CEDB Decision : Anti-Doping rule violation – futsal

2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup – Main round group phase match Belgium v Georgia, played on 7 March 2023

On 7 March 2023, Belgian Futsal player, Mr. Jawad Yachou (the player), underwent an in-competition doping control carried out by UEFA following a main round group phase match between Belgium and Georgia during the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

The analysis of the player’s sample by a WADA-accredited laboratory revealed the presence of 5-methylhexan-2-amine (1,4-dimethylpentylamine), which is a substance prohibited in-competition only under the category S6 B: Specified Stimulants of the 2023 WADA Prohibited List.

On 15 March 2023, the player underwent another in-competition doping control carried out by NADO Flanders in the context of the Futsal Belgian league 1.

The analysis of said sample by a WADA-accredited laboratory also revealed the presence of 5-methylhexan-2-amine (1,4-dimethylpentylamine).

Following the transfer of Results Management Authority of the second sample from NADO Flanders to UEFA, as well as the initial review of both samples, disciplinary proceedings were opened by UEFA against the player.

On 10 July 2023, the chairman of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided to recognise the validity of the Acceptance to Consequences form signed by the player on 29 June 2023 by means of which he accepted a Period of Ineligibility of two years (24 months) starting on 12 April 2023 (the date on which he was provisionally suspended) and ending on 12 April 2025, for committing an anti-doping rule violation.

No appeal was lodged against the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body’s decision to recognise the Acceptance of Consequences form and, therefore, the matter is finalised.
