The 10th UEFA Disciplinary Workshop took place in Vienna, Austria on 28 and 29 September with the valuable support of the Austrian Football Association (OFB).

UEFA’s disciplinary bodies – the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) and Appeals Body (AB) – as well as the Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectors (EDIs), gathered together to discuss and address topics of interest and jurisprudence of the UEFA disciplinary bodies.

Given the recent mandate of CEDB, AB members and EDIs which runs from July 2023 until June 2027 and considering the significant number of new members and inspectors, this year’s Workshop provided the perfect opportunity to meet and greet new members who recently started their mandates while reviewing disciplinary practice and matters.

Amongst the other topics, participants were also briefed on the new format of the UEFA men’s club competitions from the 2024/25 season. Representatives from CONMEBOL and AFC presented an overview of disciplinary related practices in their respective confederations. Of particular note, there was a presentation from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the main challenges of evidentiary issues.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for the members of the CEDB, the AB and the EDIs to work in break out groups and discuss subjects of specific relevance to their work allowing as such a more in-depth exchange.
